This 65-foot high statue
depicts Lord Shiva seated in Lotus position with a backdrop of Mount
Kailash with the river Ganga flowing from his matted locks. It will be
the tower of the temple which will dominate the archetecture but here it
is the Shiva statue which takes the prime attention. The temple
also has a statue of lord in a yoga posture that is 65foot high, biggest
in the country.
The view is just
mesmerizing. This reminded me of a store in Bangalore - Kemp Fort where
a huge Shiva Temple was built behind the mall. Situated
in the southern part of the state of Karnataka, at around 3000 ft above
sea level is this beautiful city, also known as the garden city of
India. The high altitude contributes to the wonderful climate in this
city.
Devotees made a beeline for
the temple and then did their post-prayer shopping at the mall. It was a
clever strategy by the owners and it worked very well for them.
